Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive.

Energising comfort and exemplary safety.

Be it during rush hour, a long drive at night or on an unfamiliar route – your C-Class Saloon noticeably relieves the strain, particularly in stressful situations. This is based on a concept that all our vehicles embody and which makes every journey in a Mercedes unique: Intelligent Drive. Because the time you spend behind the wheel is your time. Time for relaxation. Time to replenish your energy. So that, first and foremost, you reach your destination safely, but are also always relaxed when you get there.

Experience this priceless additional safety, comfort and connectivity in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon with Intelligent Drive.

Keeping a safe and comfortable distance.

The Distance Pilot DISTRONIC lowers the risk of rear-end collisions, and noticeably relieves the strain on long journeys and in stop-and-go traffic.

The driving assistance system automatically keeps your C-Class at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. The system is able to recognise vehicles cutting in and travelling ahead, and react at an early stage. It brakes the vehicle when necessary, and then accelerates it up to a pre-set speed again where possible.

See more in every situation.

For the best visibility possible on secondary roads and motorways, when turning or cornering, the LED Intelligent Light System adapts to light and driving conditions.

In addition to its distinctive visual appeal, LED technology delivers a greater light intensity and dazzles less. The LED bi-colour dual-flare tail lamps in a horizontal array lend the car a striking external appearance and improve its visibility.

Extra protection in the event of an impending rear-end collision.

PRE-SAFE® continuously monitors sensor data from other systems such as ESP® and BAS and can identify driving situations such as oversteer/understeer and emergency stops.

If danger of a rear-end collision is detected, PRE-SAFE® PLUS flashes the rear hazard warning lights at a high frequency to warn the driver following behind. If the vehicle is stationary, the brake pressure can be actively increased to reduce the load on the occupants during an impact.

Stay safely on track.

Active Lane Keeping Assist can detect unintentional lane departure and even help to return the vehicle to the correct lane by selectively braking individual wheels.

With the aid of a stereo camera, the system can immediately detect when solid or broken lane markings are crossed unintentionally. It operates in the speed range from 60 to 200 km/h. It can be activated and deactivated on the instrument cluster, where it is also possible to control its sensitivity level.

Active protection against side-on collisions.

The system's radar sensors monitor the hard-to-see area at the sides and behind the vehicle, and the driver is warned if there are vehicles in the blind spot when changing lanes.

If the driver attempts to change lanes despite the warnings, the system can warn the driver again by means of tangible course-correcting braking interventions. If the driver still fails to react, the system can actively help to manoeuvre the vehicle out of the danger zone.

Only available in conjunction with Driving Assistance Package PLUS.

Everything in view when parking.

The system provides a realistic all-round view when parking and manoeuvring thanks to the interaction of four cameras which can show a bird's-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings.

Obstacles below the window line are also made visible to the driver. The Parking Pilot with 360° camera is activated by engaging reverse, pressing the corresponding button or via the COMAND Online menu. The views change automatically but can also be selected individually.
