AIRMATIC Agility Package
Experience the Mercedes-Benz driving sensation five times over – in just one vehicle! With the AIRMATIC Agility Package in the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon.

The combination of AIRMATIC air suspension with the AGILITY SELECT switch allows you to create a driving experience to suit your needs or preferences. Four different drive modes are available at the touch of a button – very comfortable, sporty, very sporty and efficient. You can create a setting to suit you.

In combination with variable damper control, the air suspension system ensures ride comfort and dynamic handling at a very high level. The damping system adjusts to the actual driving and road conditions at each wheel. This is carried out quickly and precisely through two separate valves, for the pull and thrust movements in the dampers.

The passengers enjoy a basic suspension that is soft and, as the speed increases, a secure feeling from the high level of driving stability. The AIRMATIC system can be set to be more comfortable or sportier using the "Comfort" and "Sport" settings. The pneumatic all-round self-levelling system keeps the vehicle body level constant, independently of the load it is carrying.

It can be raised by 25 millimeters to give greater ground clearance. At high speeds, the vehicles lowers itself by up to 15 millimeters, to reduce wind resistance and further increase stability.

ESP® Dynamic Cornering Assist
In critical handling situations the Electronic Stability Program ESP® can keep the vehicle from skidding. With targeted brake interventions on individual wheels ESP® reduces oversteer or understeer tendencies and thus increases handling safety.

In addition, the engine output is adjusted as needed. A yaw-rate sensor continuously monitors vehicle movement around its vertical axis and ESP® compares the actual values measured with the target value, which is based on the driver's steering input and the vehicle speed.

The instant the vehicle deviates from this ideal line, ESP® intervenes by working to counteract any swerving movements as they occur. This way, ESP® helps the driver to stabilise the vehicle within the laws of physics – particularly when cornering and during sudden evasive manoeuvres.

Especially when accelerating on bends, the ESP®-based system ensures more stability and handling safety. If the ESP® sensors register a tendency to understeer, it can reduce this tendency with targeted brake actuation on the inside wheels.

Gesture-based Infotainment System with Touchpad
The touchpad with multitouch sensor system is an integral component of the Audio 20 CD and COMAND Online systems. One or two gestures with your fingers – a quick swipe or splay – are all it needs to understand what you want. It can even decipher the letters and numbers in your handwriting. Incidentally, the touchpad in the new C-Class is the first ever to be able to control all the functions of an infotainment system based on gestures alone.

This multimedia system combines entertainment with information and communication: The Audio 20 CD with touchpad, navigation, radio, dual tuner and CD player also allows mobile devices to be networked via Bluetooth®.

The touchpad is integrated in the hand rest of the central control unit. It offers a fully fledged additional input option for controlling the multimedia systems and for handwriting recognition and features both single and multitouch operation.

Burmester® surround sound system
Making every piece of music an experience – the Berlin-based company has targeted exceptional sound quality. Enjoy the unique qualities of this system in your vehicle.

13 high-performance speakers and electronic and acoustic elements precisely coordinated with the interior deliver first-class Burmester® sound. The surround function and sound optimisation create a more intensive listening experience for the front and rear seats.

The 9-channel DSP amplifier distributes its 590 W output perfectly across the speaker system. The surround function generates a virtual surround sound from a mono or stereo music signal. The sound can also be adapted for the front or rear seats.

Thanks to highly developed Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC) technology, a consistent sound performance is maintained to guarantee optimum listening pleasure – whether you're on the motorway or in city traffic.
