Mercedes-Benz is now offering a new four-cylinder petrol engine with 115 kW (156 hp) for the new models of the Sprinter crewbus 216 and 316, Sprinter panel van 216 and 316 as well as the for the Sprinter pickup and chassis 216, 316 and 516.

The vehicles comply with the Euro 4 standard. The M 271 petrol engine has been used successfully for several years in Mercedes-Benz passenger cars as a 1.8-litre petrol engine with a belt-driven supercharger.
