The joy of driving the M-Class continues long after you’ve run out of road. Simply press the standard off-road switch, and all of the electronic systems on board are primed for off-road driving and extra traction. If one of the wheels loses grip, the ESP®/4ETS system divides the power amongst the other wheels. Permanent all-wheel drive has additional functions that have proven their worth when travelling off the beaten track. Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) keeps the speed under control, while hill start assist makes starting on a steep hill as easy as driving on a straight road. And not even streams can stop the M-Class – its fording depth is 500 mm.
