As with rail transport systems, the Bus Rapid Transit allows passenger to travel quickly and conveniently on inner-city segments. But in comparison to rail-bound systems such as trams and especially the underground, the bus system is much more cost-effective and can be implemented faster. In addition flexible implementation in individual stages is easy to achieve.
One other strength of BRT is its individual applicability to any city and its easy adjustability to local conditions. Existing transport system can simply be integrated in the new BRT concept. As cities are subject to constant change, the high flexibility and adaptability of BRT is an optimum solution.
